15-year-old Cori Gauff defeats Venus Williams in straight sets at Wimbledon

Gauff beat the five-time champion 6-4, 6-4 to become the youngest player since 1991 to win in the first round of the ladies’ singles. After the match, Gauff thanked Williams and told her that she “wouldn’t be here” without her.

Venus and Serena Williams were the reason Gauff picked up a tennis racket.
