Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Warrick Dunn surprised a hardworking nurse and single mother with a home to call her own in St. Petersburg, Florida, marking the 173rd single-parent family he’s helped find permanent stable housing.
Cigna is honored to support former NFL star, Warrick Dunn’s Home for the Holidays program which helps single parent families achieve home ownership.
I got to witness the first time Warrick Dunn surprised a single mom with a new home when he was playing for the Bucs. More than 20 years and over 170 homes later he is still doing it. We in the media won’t tell stories like this often enough! https://t.co/YhfofL7tBh

Warrick Dunn’s mother was killed just before his 18th birthday. Through his charity, he’s been able to help 173 families find homes. In each home, he leaves a “piece” of his mom by giving the families a baked apple pie, which was his mother’s favorite dessert, according to Tamba Bay Times.
Ironically, Warrick Dunn built a home with Habitat for Humanity in Gainesville, Georgia for a Mom and kids. One young son was Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson who now gives back to his community.
This never stops being incredible.
So many homes, so many lives changed.
