American entertainment journalist, pop culture specialist and actress Tanika Ray has been confirmed to host the 11th annual Action Icon Awards at the Sheraton Universal in Universal City from 11 AM – 3 PM. The Action Icon Awards, which benefits the Diamond in the Raw non-profit, will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Action Icon Awards is sponsored by AT&T, CBS, City National Bank, Hidden Empire Film Group, Marika Activewear, McGrath & Abrams Family Foundation, Mixed Chicks, SAG-AFTRA, Stone Cold Action and UPS.

“We chose to face the systemic disparities that have plagued women in the arts with peer recognition and advocacy. The women we are celebrating chose to share the gift of mentorship with disenfranchised adolescent girls. Honored this year will be Academy Award-winning actress, director and advocate Halle Berry (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, X-Men, Monster’s Ball, Die Another Day); actress Michelle Hurd (Star Trek: Picard, Bad Hair, Hawaii Five-0); Olympic medalist, professional wrestler, actress and author Ronda Rousey; casting director Sarah Finn (Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, Black Panther); Executive Vice President of Entertainment Diversity, Inclusion and Communications at CBS Entertainment Tiffany Smith-Anoa’i; and stunt performer Tracy Dashnaw. The event will also feature a dynamic performance by The Voice Season 14 contestant Jordyn Simone.
