Aimée Delivers ‘Hurt Like Hell’ Music Video!

Aimée Delivers 'Hurt Like Hell' Music Video!

Today, sees the release of an empowering new music video from one of the most exciting female pop artists Ireland has produced in decades!

Aimée tells us, “When deciding what to do for this music video, I took quite a different approach. Most of the time, I can imagine the entire music video as soon as; I’ve written the song. I would usually have so many ideas on how to tell the story of the song itself, but with ‘Hurt Like Hell,’ instead of sharing the narrative of the song, I wanted to express the feelings instead. I think the video represents the complexity of all of the emotions that comes with a breakup.”

After a momentous 2022, which saw Aimée become the most-played Irish female artist on the radio, she is back with an empowering new single, ‘Hurt Like Hell.’

This ultimate break-up song got released on February 10th via Universal Music.

Aimée says, “I wanted to write a song for people going through heartbreak and hope it might give them a little spark of confidence when they hear it. I also wanted a song that tempts every person to grab and sing into their hairbrush, throw their middle finger in the air and scream IT’S GONNA HURT LIKE HELL!”.

She said: “Let’s face it, Valentine’s Day is not all roses and romance for everyone. I’ve noticed so many more people embracing an anti-Valentines Day vibe these past few years. Which is all about self-love, and self-respect – not needing a relationship to validate you. This is a song about loving yourself enough to leave a bad relationship!”

Ready to take 2023 by storm, the talented 27-year-old’s empowering anthem has been co-written and recorded with her “dream team” consisting of Nick Jarl (Westlife, Loreen), Richey McCourt (Will Young, TINI) and Swedish icon Joakim Berg (Zara Larsson, Avicii). ‘Hurt Like Hell’ see’s Dublin native Aimée truly find her voice and deliver something very special.

Aimée regularly flies between Sweden and LA to write and record new music, and last year saw her play a sold-out headline show at Dublin’s Academy, a debut regional tour, and a Late Late Show TV performance. She also signed an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with BDi music.

She is part of the Irish Women in Harmony collective, whose first single, ‘Dreams,’ received over 5 million streams on Spotify. Aimée became the first female act to hold the number-one spot on the Official Homegrown Irish Chart. Since then, she has been a champion for Irish women’s voices in an industry dominated by men.

Aimée first came to light on YouTube, where she got ¼ million views on her first video in less than a week! She then built her following on Instagram with one min Wednesdays, after which she asked to compete on the X Factor. She was axed just before judges’ houses as the producers wanted her mother, who was doing cancer treatment at the time, to be interviewed, which Aimée declined.

Her mother was a massive influence in her life and sadly passed away five years ago. She is now hugely relieved she didn’t make the live shows, as she feels that it gave her time to develop as an artist. Aimée has been in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend since childhood – he has also been an inspiration for some of her previous releases.

She has been a vegan for five years and enjoys sharing cooking tips. A lover of fitness, she is also a skilled dancer and choreographer. Her family runs an award-winning dance school in Dublin, and they were the winners of Ireland’s Got Talent!
