Alemeda’s back with some new music, releasing a new single titled “Broken Record” and described as a “gritty garage-punk banger that calls out conditional love and romantic gestures.”
“I wrote ‘Broken Record’ about being taken for granted. It’s about not feeling seen until you’re gone.” This follows the release of her sophomore EP titled “But What The Hell Do I Know” in November, which garnered critical acclaim for its blend of catchy melodies, unfiltered truths, and emotional catharsis.
The EP features the song “Beat A B!tch Up” and takes the listener on a raw journey of self-discovery. Alemeda also made her network TV debut on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” performing “Happy With You” from the EP. “But What The Hell Do I Know” and Alemeda’s debut EP “FK IT” are also available as a dual EP vinyl bundle.
Alemeda kicked off her “But Where The Hell Should I Go” North American headline tour earlier this week, playing Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg and Los Angeles’s The Roxy.
Alemeda personally selected the opening acts for each show after inviting up-and-coming artists to submit their applications via Instagram.

Feb. 20 – Washington, D.C. – The Atlantis – with Sabrina Song
Feb. 21 – Brooklyn, New York – Music Hall of Williamsburg – with Community Chapstick and Rakiyah

Combining pop, rock, and indie sounds, the self-proclaimed “cat mom” uses music as a form of expression and empowerment.
Her early claim to fame was her 2021 UK garage single “Gonna Bleach My Eyebrows,” which has accumulated more than 14 million streams to date.
Her 2024 debut EP, FK IT, further showcased her bold writing and solidified her as one of the most daring voices in alternative music.
Complex has praised Alemeda as “one of the most important figures to emerge in alternative music,” as she “as a Black woman who proudly embraces alternative sensibilities, she’s pushing stereotypes and making space for more diverse representations in rock and alternative music… Alemeda is a rock star on the rise.”
