Alyson Cranick, 42, a married educator and mother of two, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and impairing the morals of children. Cranick is accused of raping an 11-year-old boy.

The incident took place over a period of several months, involving at least 14 instances where the boy sneaked out of his home during the night to meet with Cranick.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by WFSB, Cranick would wait by hiding behind a neighbor’s property or directly approach the boy’s house, displaying a disturbing level of premeditation.

Court documents suggest that the sexual encounters occurred in Cranick’s car on multiple occasions, and they also shared intimate moments within the premises of Horace Porter School in Columbia.

It is alleged that Cranick even went as far as creating a bracelet for the young boy, bearing the acronym “BFFLWB,” which stood for “Best Friends for Life With Benefits.”

The case came to light when the boy disclosed the incidents to a relative, detailing how the educator had initially communicated with him through various messaging platforms such as iMessage, Snapchat, and Discord.

The boy mentioned that Cranick emotionally manipulated him into spending more time with her but eventually refused any further contact.

During the investigation, Cranick denied initiating sexual contact and attempted to downplay the inappropriateness of her communication with the boy. She claimed that she was merely trying to provide comfort due to his concerns about family matters. However, these excuses have not swayed law enforcement officials who have brought forward serious charges against her.

Upon completion of the investigation, Cranick was terminated from her position as an administrative assistant at E.O. Smith High School in Mansfield, where she was employed.

The severity of the charges and the potential harm inflicted on a vulnerable minor has resulted in a high bond of $500,000. Cranick’s parents have been instructed to pay 10% of that amount to secure her release and transport her back to Pennsylvania, her home state.
