Angelina Jolie reiterated her support for Palestinian people on Friday in a visit to Egypt’s Arish and Rafah border crossing. She assessed locations involved in assisting Gaza with humanitarian aid.

Jolie expressed her happiness at meeting volunteers who helped deliver aid at the crossing. Jolie was part of a U.S. delegation and was greeted by both current and past government officials, according to the state-owned news publication, Al-Ahram.

In response, an Egyptian Red Crescent voluntary worker told Jolie, who has an Oscar and was special envoy to refugees at the United Nations, that thousands of trucks are lined up at the border to deliver much-needed assistance to 2.2 million people in Gaza.

In her visit, Jolie, aged 50, visited key locations. She inspected warehouses established to assist Palestinians in Gaza and assessed Egypt’s efforts to receive and distribute aid.

Media reports state that she discussed the construction of a relief village for orphaned children in Gaza, where children who have lost relatives in attacks from the Israeli government would have a safe haven.

It will bring shelter, medical care, education, and psychological support, and what children everywhere in the world are entitled to is life and hope, she said.
