Apple TV+ has given a sneak glimpse into its next dramedy series, “Land of Women,” which will launch globally in the summer of 2024. The project, which stars Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria and acts as an executive producer, promises to be a unique blend of drama and comedy.

The six-episode comedy follows Gala (Longoria), a New York empty nester whose life takes an unexpected turn when her husband’s financial blunders put the family in jeopardy. Along with the skilled Longoria, the ensemble includes the famous Carmen Maura as Gala’s old mother and newcomer Victoria Bazua as her college-aged daughter.

What distinguishes “Land of Women” is its bilingual approach, with scenes shot in both English and Spanish, providing a broad viewing experience. The story unfolds as the three ladies seek sanctuary in a lovely wine town in northern Spain, where Gala’s mother had sought peace five decades before, promising never to return. The lovely village quickly becomes a canvas for uncovering family secrets and confronting buried realities as the group seeks to establish new identities.

Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, and Paula Fernández created the series, which is inspired by Sandra Barneda’s best-selling novel. Carlos Sedes, an Iris Award winner, brings his creative vision to life, providing the audience with a captivating visual experience.

The executive producers for “Land of Women,” produced by Bambú Producciones and Apple Studios, include showrunner Ramón Campos, Iris Award winner Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Ben Spector, and the multi-talented Eva Longoria through her production company UnbeliEVAble Entertainment founded in 2005.
