AVA DUVERNAY’S ARRAY PRESENTS FOURTH FILMMAKER TWEET-A-THON

Ava DuVernay’s arts collective ARRAY will present its fourth daylong filmmaker tweet-a-thon, ARRAY FILM FELLOWSHIP, on Thursday, April 30, 9am PST.  For more than ten hours, the Twitter takeover event will convene more than 50 directors to share information about their craft and latest projects, take questions from film lovers and encourage people to stay home for public safety. The conversation will use the dedicated hashtag #ARRAYNow.  One of ARRAY’s signature social media events since 2015, the 2020 iteration will feature a variety of filmmakers who are people of color and women of all kinds, representing multiple genres and perspectives.  “The ARRAY FILM FELLOWSHIP is our way of conjuring community, creativity and conversation while we’re all staying at home during these unprecedented times,” said ARRAY founder Ava DuVernay. “With the support and enthusiasm of our friends at Twitter, along with dozens of my fellow filmmakers, we hope the event brings solace and solidarity to those who join us.”  “We’re honored to host ARRAY’s fourth annual filmmaker tweet-a-thon and partner with the brilliant Ava DuVernay and her wonderful and creative team,” said Lara Cohen, Head of Global Partner Solutions at Twitter. “Highlighting voices and connecting artists to their audience with conversations is core to Twitter, and never has that felt more important. This is going to be a magical day for #FilmTwitter!” https://www.instagram.com/p/B_fpja7l-Sn/?igshid=wbhv61epu16 Over three dozen feature directors will participate including:  Oscar winners/nominees: Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water), Liz Garbus (Whatever Happened, Miss Simone), Matthew Cherry (Hair Love), Roger Ross Williams (Life, Animated), Yance Ford (Strong Island), Ava DuVernay (13th).  Gamechangers: Jon Chu (Crazy Rich Asians), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), Malcolm D.
