Beats By Dre Under Fire After Flo Milli Commercial Resurfaces

People are revisiting and criticizing the Beats by Dre new “Flex That” campaign commercial starring rapper Flo Milli. The campaign is to promote their new headphones while also addressing racial inequality, but some people feel as though they missed the mark.

The Beats by Dre commercial really had Flo Milli dancing in front of a confederate statue. Many fans went in on the resurfaced commercial.

Twitter user, @MxKA__ tweeted, thinking about @limewirereset essay on Dark Skin Black Women as Black Liberation Aesthetic Merchandise and how Beats understood Flo Milli to be representational merchandise because she’s dark skinned. only for the advancement of the performative social justice aesthetic.
