Bre Tiesi is happy with her place in the unconventional family unit that Nick Cannon has created, saying she is “always number one.”
In an interview with ExtraTV, the reality TV personality, who has a son with Cannon, said that her attitude is not about keeping up with the other women in Cannon’s life, but about her own self-fulfillment.
“Nick has a lot of mamas,” she said. “I’m always number one. I don’t know what anyone else is doing. All I know is I got what I wanted and what makes me feel good, and that’s all that matters.”
Tiesi, 33, has a son named Legendary Love with Cannon, who has 12 children with various women. While she doesn’t compete with the other women in Cannon’s life, she said that she doesn’t think about them because it would give them “too much power.”
“As long as my needs are met, I’m number one.”
Cannon, 45, has been open about his unconventional family situation and his views on relationships. He has children with several women, including Mariah Carey, the only woman he has married.
However, during her interview, Tiesi also opened up about her growing popularity from her Netflix series “Selling Sunset,” admitting she did not realize just how popular it was worldwide until she traveled.
“The show has been insane,” she said. “I never really realized how far it spread until I started traveling overseas.”
She also opened up about Cannon’s reactions to her growing popularity, admitting that there were moments when he was caught off guard by her fans’ perks, especially when they went to theme parks.
However, her comments quickly went viral, with some expressing support while others questioned her claim to be “number one.”
“Saying this with Mariah Carey as the only wife he has ever had is crazy,” one commenter wrote. Meanwhile, another person wrote that her independence could be why she is “number one,” with some defending her as simply confident enough to set boundaries.
However, it seemed that Tiesi did not take her critics too seriously as she expressed her point of view as being self-focused rather than competitive.
“I don’t really care what anyone else is doing,” she said. “As long as I’m good, that’s what matters.”
