Bre Tiesi is shedding light on the emotional struggles of co-parenting with Nick Cannon, revealing that the holiday season brings out feelings of jealousy as he divides his time among his multiple families. The model and reality star, who shares a two-year-old son, Legendary Love, with Cannon, candidly discussed her emotions on the We Need To Talk podcast.
While she has embraced their unconventional arrangement, Tiesi admitted that watching Cannon celebrate with his other children while Legendary is left out can be difficult. She emphasized that her concerns are not rooted in personal jealousy but rather in her desire for her son to feel included and connected to his 11 siblings.
The Challenge of Sharing a Partner with Multiple Families
Tiesi has been vocal about her non-traditional relationship with Cannon, stating that they are in an open arrangement. However, despite her acceptance of his other relationships, she acknowledged that certain moments trigger emotional reactions especially when it comes to their son.
“I think I’ve gotten jealous about holidays,” Tiesi admitted. “Holidays are hard.”
She explained that while she does not necessarily feel envious of the other women in Cannon’s life, she struggles when she sees his other children spending time together without Legendary.
“I’d be like, ‘Okay, well, if you’re gonna do this, can you take Ledgie?’ And it’s not for me, I’m not jealous,” she explained. “Say they go on a trip and I’m like, ‘Well, that would’ve been nice. Could you have just brought Ledgie with you guys?'”
Nick Cannon’s Expanding Family and the Reality of Co-Parenting
Cannon, 43, is the father of 12 children with six different women, including Mariah Carey, Abby De La Rosa, Alyssa Scott, LaNisha Cole, and Brittany Bell. Over the years, he has faced scrutiny for his unconventional approach to fatherhood, with many questioning how he manages to be present in the lives of so many children.
While Cannon has consistently maintained that he is an involved and loving father, the reality of balancing multiple households presents undeniable challenges. Tiesi’s remarks highlight a perspective often overlooked—the emotional toll it takes on the mothers of his children as they navigate co-parenting with a man who has an ever-growing family.
A Mother’s Desire for Inclusion and Connection
For Tiesi, her primary concern is ensuring that Legendary builds strong relationships with his half-siblings, even if the dynamic between their mothers is complicated.
“They’re just young right now, so they don’t really interact as much,” she explained. “I just want to make sure I’m keeping the door open and that everyone involved is happy so our kids can have a relationship.”
She made it clear that regardless of personal differences, she is committed to fostering a sense of unity among the children.
“You don’t have to like me, we don’t have to have a relationship—I don’t need to at all—but I want you to know that I genuinely love and accept your kids, and they’re welcome in my home,” she said.
The Struggles of an Unconventional Family Structure
Cannon has spoken openly about his attempts to maintain a presence in all of his children’s lives, acknowledging that the logistics of fatherhood in his situation are far from traditional. However, as Tiesi’s comments reveal, the emotional impact extends beyond him—it affects the mothers of his children and, ultimately, the children themselves.
While she remains dedicated to ensuring Legendary feels connected to his siblings, her honesty about the struggles of co-parenting with someone who has multiple families offers a rare glimpse into the challenges that come with such an unconventional arrangement.
Tiesi’s perspective is a reminder that even in open and non-traditional relationships, feelings of exclusion and longing can still surface. And as Cannon continues to expand his legacy, the question remains: Can one man truly give equal attention to a dozen children spread across different households?
