Zindzi Mandela, South Africa’s Ambassador to Denmark and daughter of anti-apartheid icons Nelson and Winnie Mandela, has died at the age of 59, the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation says.
“Zindzi will not only be remembered as a daughter of our struggle heroes … but as a struggle heroine in her own right.”

Zindzi Mandela is often reduced to the speech she read on behalf of her father. She was so much more. A writer. An activist in her own right among the generation of 1976. A close witness to the fierce mam’ Nomzamo. What a terrible loss.
