The Instagrammer’s Halloween outfit, which mimics singer Katy Perry’s distinct style, has generated a lot of buzz online, with many users commenting on how much the two women resemble one another.
The transformation video, posted on Camilla Araujo’s Instagram account, gained over 45,000 likes in a few hours. The dress features pastel-colored hair, candy-themed accessories, and a variety of confectionery details.
Araujo has mentioned that she had commissioned a specially designed outfit for this project as she had not found a suitable one in retail stores.
“I spent $4000 on this custom piece,” Araujo is shown to say in one of the videos. “The ones in stores were not giving what they needed to give.”
The social media personality revealed that she had chosen Perry’s candy-themed appearance over other iconic looks like when the singer attended a Met Gala in a chandelier dress.
“Miss Girl walked around in a fucking chandelier like I was not gonna do that. I would not have been able to get to the fucking door,” Araujo said.
Araujo tweeted that people had noticed a resemblance between Araujo and Perry.
“I get this comment in every single video. So get ready with me to actually transform into her,” she said.
The video featured preparation procedures that involved hair and makeup styling prior to unveiling the final outfit.
“Since I’ve started social media, you guys have told me up the fucking wazoo, blowing it up my ass, so I wasn’t gonna do it half-assed. I’m actually doing the most, like this is my Heidi Klum moment,” Araujo explained. “I’m actually decorating my whole place. I’m a big fan of decorations.”
