Soulful alt-pop singer-songwriter Caroline Romano based out of Nashville, has delivered yet another emotional single, the just-premiered “Born To Want More.” Together with the release, Romano has announced the title to be given to her upcoming 2025 EP, to be titled How The Good Girls Die.
“Born To Want More” continues to push the pace set by previous releases like “Body Bag” and “Pretty Boys,” a sampling from an EP that mightily promises to stretch conventional bounds and seal her place in this alternative pop scene. The single conveys the bittersweet ache of striving toward dreams that seem just out of your grasp, merging a stripped guitar with Romano’s heartfelt vocals that eventually swell into an indie-rock crescendo.
Reflecting on what the song means, Romano shared, “I wrote ‘Born to Want More’ during a time when I was dealing with a string of ‘almosts’-those moments where it feels like everything is so close but still just out of reach. This song captures that wits-end feeling where you’re wondering if you’ll ever find what you’re looking for.” She added, “It’s by far one of my more vulnerable songs I’ve released, and it’s one of my favorites for that reason.”
At only 23 years old, Caroline Romano has managed to make a name for herself as an artist who can do it all: from misty-eyed ballads to fiery alt-rock anthems. Since the release of her 2022 debut album, Oddities and Prodigies, and her 2023 EP, A Brief Epic, Romano has continued to grow and show deeper layers with each release.
Her music is unbridled and represents a young woman treading life, oozing longing, self-discovery, and hedonism-one theme after another. Beyond the studio work, Romano has garnered a reputation for electric live performances across iconic Nashville mainstays like The Basement East and The End. She has also toured nationwide alongside acts such as Grayscale and Smallpools.
