Carolyn Bryant Donham: White Woman That Made False Accusations That Led To Emmett Till Lynching, Spotted For The First Time In 20 Years In Kentucky

Carolyn Bryant Donham made headlines recently after her arrest warrant for the death of Emmett Till was found in a court basement 70 years after it was issued.

Donham accused Emmett Till of making sexual advances inside of a store in Mississippi. Till was later kidnapped, lynched, and dumped into a river. Emmett Till’s mother, Mamie Till-Mobley held an open casket funeral which sparked the civil rights movement after the photos of Emmett Till’s body surfaced.

In an unpublished memoir, Donham has admitted she lied in the case that led to the murder decades ago of the 14-year-old Emmett Till. She spoke about fabricating her trial testimony about Till making verbal and physical advances toward her.

Emmett Till’s accuser, Carolyn Bryant Donham was recently spotted for the first time in 20 years in Kentucky. Donham has cancer and is legally blind. She’s currently in hospice care in a shared apartment with her son.

Many are still calling for her arrest and want to see her spend her final days in a prison cell.
