Cruel Summer is the Freeform hit we just can’t get enough of. Am I right? The psychological thriller “takes place over three summers in the ’90s and follows the story of popular teen “Kate Wallis” who goes missing, and another girl “Jeannette Turner” seemingly takes her place. Someone is lying, but we don’t know who.
We caught up with Cruel Summer star Ashlei Sharpe Chesnut who plays “Ashley Wallis” polished and sophisticated older step-sister to “Kate Wallis”. Without giving away too much Ashlei teases what we can expect from tonight’s episode, “Happy Birthday Kate Wallis”. If you’ve been wanting to know more about Ashley’s backstory, Chesnut says we will get just that. Ashlei also shares who she believes, is she #teamkate or #teamjeannette? You’ll have to watch the interview to see.
Ashlei also just wrapped a Kevin Costner-produced pilot for Abc entitled National Parks, and if picked up it is slated for release in 2022.
Ashlei is one to watch, and we can’t wait to see what she does next!
Watch Ashlei Tuesday Nights in Cruel Summer on Freeform.
