When Dafne Keen stepped onto the ocean blue carpet at the world premiere of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” Season 2, social media did not merely react. It exploded. The event, held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, transformed the venue into a spectacular underwater fantasy, complete with towering tentacles and dramatic ocean themed decor. But it was Keen who truly commanded the spotlight.
Now 20, the actress returning as Annabeth Chase had fans stunned by her grown and glowing transformation. Photos from the event instantly flooded X and Instagram, turning into a full blown commentary storm of admiration, nostalgia, and disbelief.
Social Media Went Crazy
The moment photos appeared online, fans went into a frenzy.
One person wrote, “That’s our X23. The hottest MCU woman.”
Another reacted, “To think, this the same girl from Logan, I hope she has a booming career.”
A third fan shared, “I get so happy that she’s in the series.”
One comment captured the collective shock: “She’s changed a lot omg.”
Some fans struggled to reconcile the years passing, posting, “Help I will always see her as cute innocent 12 year old Lyra so this is bugging out my brain I’m getting old lol.”
Others leaned into pop culture memory, asking, “You telling me this is Lil Wolverine??”
The reaction made one thing undeniable. Dafne Keen has reached a new stage of celebrity and fans were not emotionally prepared.
A Premiere That Went All In
The premiere was designed as a full spectacle from start to finish. In tribute to Rick Riordan’s “The Sea of Monsters,” the iconic blue carpet shimmered like water under museum lights, while the Academy Museum was transformed into a fantasy ocean kingdom.

They were joined by an impressive roster of guest stars from the new season, including Jason Mantzoukas, Timothy Simons, Glynn Turman, Courtney B. Vance, Andra Day, Virginia Kull, Tamara Smart, and others.
