The original drama series Greenleaf from award-winning writer/producer Craig Wright (Lost, Six Feet Under, Brothers and Sisters) takes viewers into the unscrupulous world of the Greenleaf family and their sprawling Memphis megachurch, where scandalous secrets and lies are as numerous as the faithful. Born of the church, the Greenleaf family love and care for each other, but beneath the surface lies a den of iniquity—greed, adultery, sibling rivalry and conflicting values—that threatens to tear apart the very core of their faith that holds them together.

Actress Desiree Ross plays Sophia Greenleaf, the daughter of Grace Greenleaf (Merle Dandridge), on OWN’s new drama Greenleaf.

Desiree was born May 1999 and raised in South Carolina. She is the eldest of two children and the daughter of a teacher and factory supervisor. Her first paid project was playing a lead role for a series of health videos for SC-ETV called Healthy Hanna. During that time, she starred in other projects, including the award-winning short films Crossing the River and Old Souls. Desiree’s Hollywood breakthrough came with Lifetime’s A Country Christmas Story, starring opposite Dolly Parton, Mary Kay Place and Megyn Price. Afterwards, she landed a role as a recurring actor in Spielberg/TNT’s season four of Falling Skies, working alongside of Will Patton and Noah Wyle.

Desiree’s two passions are helping others and acting. She is an avid community volunteer and often works in food pantries. Her main goal is to help bring fresh water wells to Togo, Africa.

We had the opportunity to talk to Desiree about the final season of ‘Greenleaf’ and her upcoming projects.
