Dion Johnson Was Shot and Killed by Arizona Trooper While He Was Sleeping in His Car

A 28-year-old man died after being shot by an Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper during a struggle earlier this week, police officials said.

Dion Johnson has become another victim of police brutality in America. A trooper found Johnson asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked on the eastbound “gore point” of the Loop 101 at Tatum Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Maggie Cox told Arizona Central.

Dion Johnson car was reportedly partially blocking traffic. So the trooper supposedly made contact with Johnson and it was some sort of “struggle” which led to the trooper shooting Johnson.

Johnson was removed from his car by the trooper and the Phoenix Fire Department personally transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The trooper hasn’t been named. The police department haven’t released the body cam footage. Johnson mother hasn’t been able to see his body. Also Dion Johnson was unarmed.
