Donald Glover has signed an 8-figure deal with Amazon to curate content for the streaming service.
As Glover exits FX, this new deal will not impact the seasons three and four of FX hit show ‘Atlanta.’
Glover is working on a series called Hive, rumored to revolve around a Beyonce-like figure. The Hollywood Reporter says Malia Obama has joined the writing staff for one of Glover’s first projects at Amazon.
This news follows right after Amazon Studios announced last week that the award-winning writers, producers, and actors Donald Glover (Atlanta) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) will create and star in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a new series based on the 2005 New Regency film. Glover and Waller-Bridge will also serve as executive producers, with co-creator and executive producer Francesca Sloane (Atlanta, Fargo), who will serve as showrunner, and executive producers Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer (New Regency), and Jenny Robins (Wells Street Films).
