Erin Andrews Dragged Online After Saying She “Misses the Holidays” Because of NFL Duties

Fox’s Thanksgiving broadcast will feature Erin Andrews once again, this year in Detroit, where the Lions will be playing the Packers in the annual holiday game.

Though families will come together for meals and football, it is often easy to forget the sacrifice for the broadcasting crew and those working on the game who travel out of town for the holidays.

As seen in the podcast this week with Andrews’ Fox Sports commentator Charissa Thompson, she discussed some of the things she has given up in her career and offered advice for those who would like a career in this industry. First of all, you need to love your career because you will miss out on everything else in life except sports.

“This is what one of my first professors said,” Andrews went on. “If you don’t want to make $40,000 in your first job, get out. If you don’t want to be told you need a nose job, get out. If you don’t want to be divorced, get out. If you don’t want to work holidays, get out.”

“And I don’t say it like that, but I say you got to love what you do because I miss all holidays. I didn’t get married until I was in my 40s. Not that that is going to be your route, but I live out of a suitcase. I miss a lot of stuff. I missed a lot of weddings. I miss a lot of events. You have to love it to get you through the fact, ‘I’m not gonna be home for Thanksgiving next week’ or ‘Christmas is cut short.”

Of course, Erin Andrews’ career is a shining example, with her success culminating in her being one of the best sport reporters for ESPN and Fox Networks. She has covered the Super Bowl, College GameDay, and even produced shows such as ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ But with a resume this impressive, other areas of one’s life have to be sacrificed in order to concentrate on sports reporting.
