The first teaser for “Lessons in Chemistry,” an upcoming drama series on Apple TV+ that will star and be executive produced by Academy Award winner Brie Larson (“Captain Marvel,” “Room”) and is based on the bestselling debut novel by Bonnie Garmus, a writer, science editor, and copywriter. This fall, “Lessons in Chemistry” will make its Apple TV+ debut all over the world.
“Lessons in Chemistry,” which is set in the early 1950s, centers on Elizabeth Zott (played by Brie Larson), whose desire to become a scientist is put on hold by her patriarchal society. Elizabeth accepts a job as a host on a TV cooking show after discovering she has been fired from her lab job. She then sets out to teach a nation of undervalued housewives — and the men who are now paying attention — much more than just recipes.
Alongside Larson in the eagerly awaited drama are actors like Lewis Pullman (“Top Gun: Maverick,” “Outer Range”), NAACP Image Award winner Aja Naomi King (“How to Get Away with Murder,” “The Birth of a Nation”), Stephanie Koenig (“The Flight Attendant,” “The Offer”), Kevin Sussman (“The Big Bang Theory,” “The Dropout”), Patrick Walker (“Gaslit,” “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey”), and Thomas Mann (“Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty,” “Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”).
“Lessons in Chemistry” is an Apple Studios production and was put together by Aggregate Films. Showrunner Lee Eisenberg (“WeCrashed,” “Little America”) is a six-time Emmy Award nominee.
Larson and Oscar nominee Susannah Grant (“Unbelievable,” “Erin Brockovich”) are the series’ executive producers. For Aggregate Films, executive producers Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan (“Ozark,” “A Teacher”) are involved. Through Piece of Work Entertainment, Natalie Sandy executive produces with Eisenberg. Executive producer Louise Shore is also employed.
