Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik are set to reprise their beloved roles as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler in the series finale of Warner Bros. Television’s “Young Sheldon.” The special episode is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 16, from 8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT and 8:31 – 9:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, with streaming available on Paramount+ for subscribers.
This marks the first on-camera return of Parsons and Bialik’s characters since the conclusion of “The Big Bang Theory” series finale in May 2019. Parsons, who serves as an executive producer and narrator for “Young Sheldon,” and Bialik, who has previously appeared in voiceover form in two episodes of the series, are set to bring their iconic characters back to life for fans eagerly awaiting this reunion.
“Young Sheldon,” created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, follows the childhood journey of Sheldon Cooper, a prodigy with an exceptional mind for mathematics and science, navigating life in a world where his intellect often sets him apart. The show explores Sheldon’s formative years, offering a glimpse into the experiences that shaped him into the memorable character audiences came to know in “The Big Bang Theory.”
Since its premiere, “Young Sheldon” has been a consistent ratings success, earning the title of the #1 new comedy of the 2017-2018 television season. The show’s popularity continued to soar, becoming the #1 comedy in the 2019-2020 season after “The Big Bang Theory” concluded its run. The seventh and final season of “Young Sheldon,” which premiered on Feb. 15, has maintained its status as television’s #1 comedy, with strong viewership across all platforms.
The series boasts a talented ensemble cast including Iain Armitage, Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, Emily Osment, and Jim Parsons providing the voice of Sheldon.
