First Look of Halle Bailey as Ariel in “The Little Mermaid” Live Action

Bailey was cast as Ariel in Disney’s upcoming live-action reimagining of The Little Mermaid in 2019.

The film is directed by Rob Marshall and produced by Marshall, John DeLuca, Marc Platt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The Little Mermaid will feature beloved songs from the animated classic by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as new songs by Menken (music) and Miranda (lyrics).

Awkwafina, Jacob Tremblay, Melissa McCarthy, Jonah Hauer-King, Javier Bardem and Daveed Diggs will join Halle Bailey alongside the film.

The live action film still does not have a release date.
