A Florida cheerleading coach has reportedly been arrested for sexually abusing two female students when they were 13 years old.
Auzoiya Johnea Williams, 33, has been charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery on victims aged 12 to 15, according to WMBB News 13.
After speaking with the two girls on May 19th, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office reportedly became aware of these allegations. They interviewed both girls separately and discovered that they had similar stories about sexual abuse they had suffered since the age of 13.
According to Conan Daily, the two girls lived in Williams’ home from 2016 to 2019.
The publication states, one girl revealed that she was abused in Williams’ home on multiple occasions when she was 15 or 16. The other girl claims she bonded with Williams through sleepovers and had at least three sexual relationships with Williams before she turned 19, according to Conan Daily.
According to court records, the two victims did not report Auzoiya Johnea Williams because they did not want her to get into trouble.
According to WMBB News 13, the investigators in this case obtained electronic messages from Williams in which she admitted to the abuse.
Auzoiya Williams was arrested and barred from contacting the two girls. Her bond is set at $150,000.
According to Auzoiya Williams’ social media profiles, she is the founder of Lo&Lon Apparel and Capture US, the director of Zilo Dance Studio in Panama City, and the mother of two children.
Williams has previously worked for Bay District Schools, but she has not been associated with a high school cheer program since November 2021 and has not served as a substitute since 2022.
The Bay District issued the following statement regarding the arrest of Auzoiya Williams:
“We are deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the recent arrest of a substitute teacher and former volunteer. We’re doing all we can to cooperate with law enforcement as they continue their investigation, and we want the community to know that this person will not be working or volunteering in any of our schools going forward. She has not been affiliated with a high school cheer program since late November of 2021 and has not served as a substitute since last year.”
“Additionally, we want to be clear that our thoughts are with the victims, and we will be reaching out to them to see if there’s any support we can provide. We certainly encourage any other students who have knowledge of this situation, or may have been victimized, to make themselves known to law enforcement as soon as possible, as this is the first we have heard of these allegations stemming from 2016-2019.”
“Bay District Schools takes ALL concerns very seriously. Still, we also want the community to know that the actions of one employee are not indicative of the commitment to excellence that drives all of our other employees.”
