Camila Maria Concepción, a trans Latina writer, actor and activist who worked on the Netflix series “Gentefied” and “Daybreak,” died last week by suicide, her representative confirmed to Variety. She was 28 years old.
Concepción was a member of the 50/50 by 2020 initiative dedicated to creating gender and racial equality in the entertainment industry.
The loss of every single trans person is a tragedy. But one so talented, who was starting a career that could have improved the lives of so many others like her hits especially hard. Rest in power, Camila.
