Harvey Weinstein was reportedly banned on Monday from the prestigious Television Academy after more than 80 women spoke out, accusing the Hollywood mogul of sexual assault, harassment and rape, throughout a number of decades.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in a meeting on Monday, voted to expel Weinstein from the Academy for life, according to Variety.

Weinstein got exposed for his actions by an audio recording Audio, recorded by Model Ambra Battilana. In the recording you can her her ask why he touched her breasts the day before. He apologizes.

“Oh, please, I’m sorry, just come on in,” Weinstein says. “I’m used to that. Come on. Please.”

“You’re used to that?” asks Gutierrez.

“Yes. Come in … I won’t do it again, come on, sit here. Sit here for a minute, please?”

I’m very happy that the academy banned Harvey Weinstein for life but I believe we shouldn’t let the Academy off the hook so quick. A lot of members from the academy knew about Harvey Weinstein sexual assault and harassment actions. John Oliver exposes Harvey Weinstein and The Academy in the next clip.

I’m just saying The Academy needs to be exposed for their actions too. You have these people in power abusing their power. Society should hold members of the academy accountable for their actions. They knew about it and brushed it underneath the rug. That’s just unacceptable, this can’t happen anymore.
