The upcoming Escape Room 2 will return the surviving characters from 2019’s Escape Room, played by Taylor Russell and Logan Miller, while introducing new ‘victims’ into the fold, as announced by Sony.
Adam Robitel is back to direct the sequel of the psychological horror thriller, while introducing new cast members: Isabelle Fuhrman, Holland Roden, Indya Moore and Thomas Cocquerel, along with Carlito Olivero.
Much is still unknown about the setting of the sequel, but its predecessor zeroed-in on six strangers, who find themselves in a maze of deadly and mysterious rooms, while having to navigate each room and solving puzzles to survive. Two characters made it out alive in Russell’s Zoey Davis and Miller’s Ben Miller. It opened to rack up $18.2 million, domestically, while garnering over $155 million, worldwide.
The 2019 film was essentially a reboot of 2017’s Escape Room, which also gathered six competitors to test their intelligence in a deadly game, where, presumably, only one can survive. It starred both Evan Williams and Annabelle Stephenson.
Escape Room 2 is currently scheduled to release in theaters on Aug. 14, 2020. Stay tuned to Galaxtic Pop for updates!
