Jennifer Lopez is slated to enthrall viewers once more in the ever-evolving realm of cinematic storytelling with the upcoming sci-fi thriller “ATLAS.” The film offers a compelling story that explores the nuances of humanity’s connection with artificial intelligence (AI), as evidenced by the release of its official teaser trailer.
Written by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite and directed by Brad Peyton, who is well-known for his action-packed blockbuster films like “San Andreas” and “Rampage,” “ATLAS” presents a novel interpretation of the AI genre. The movie, which is slated to open in theaters on May 24, 2024, stars Jennifer Lopez as Atlas Shepherd, a perceptive and intelligent data analyst with a strong mistrust of artificial intelligence.
The action-packed teaser trailer sets the setting for an exciting journey as Atlas Shepherd sets out on a risky mission to capture a rogue robot, with whom she has a fascinating and enigmatic past. Atlas, however, is faced with the difficult challenge of balancing her mistrust of AI with the urgent need to rely on it for human existence as the mission takes an unexpected turn.
Alongside Lopez on this exciting journey is a group of actors that each offer special talents to the table: Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla, and Mark Strong.
Behind the scenes, a powerhouse team of producers, led by Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson for ASAP Entertainment, along with Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell for Safehouse Pictures, Jennifer Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and Benny Medina for Nuyorican Productions, and Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter for Berlanti/Schechter Films, has come together to bring “ATLAS” to life.
With Samson Mücke and Michael Riley McGrath serving as executive producers, the film promises not just thrilling action but also thought-provoking issues about the junction of mankind and technology.
