Jimmy Kimmel took the opportunity to make a joke about First Lady Melania Trump and her recent documentary, saying, “there are also documentaries where you walk around the White House trying on shoes,” a reference to the documentary, which premiered earlier this year.
The film, directed by Brett Ratner and available on Amazon Prime Video, follows Melania Trump during Donald Trump’s return to the presidency. It has been called a “vanity documentary” by critics, who say it is light on content and focuses instead on fashion and behind-the-scenes action.
Kimmel has made fun of the documentary on his late-night show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, calling it a “vanity documentary” and making jokes about its budget, box office, and reviews.
During the Oscars monologue, he joked that Donald Trump would be mad that Melania’s documentary didn’t get nominated for Best Feature Documentary.
Kimmel also joked about CBS, saying that “places that don’t value free speech” include “North Korea and CBS,” a reference to the network’s alleged censorship of late-night host Stephen Colbert.
