Former rapper and podcast host Joe Budden is facing a lewdness charge after allegedly sleepwalking naked in his Edgewater, NJ apartment complex on December 4, according to police reports.
The Edgewater Police Department states that officers responded to a 7:21 AM call from a resident who spotted Budden, 44, completely nude outside their apartment door. The incident was captured on the resident’s doorbell camera, showing Budden attempting to enter a keypad code before returning to his own unit across the hall.
Budden, who records his popular podcast from the complex, has been charged with lewdness, a disorderly persons offense under New Jersey law 2C:14-4a. Police Chief Martin emphasized that the charges are accusations, with Budden presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The case will proceed through the New Jersey court system. Representatives for Budden have not yet commented on the incident.
