Meet Johnathan Pentland. Pentland is a U.S. Army sergeant first class who is being investigated over a viral video from Columbia, South Carolina. He was harassing a young Black man and physically assaulted him for no reason. The incident took place in Columbia, South Carolina.

In the video, you can clearly hear Pentland say: “You’re in the wrong neighborhood, motherf*cker”.

Pentland committed with racially motivated intent (“this is a tight knit community”, “you don’t belong here” are established precedent as enough to kick him out of the military) is a hate crime.

Cassie Dalrymple Pentland has been identified as the woman threatening to call the police on the young man. She even tells him to stick around and find out.

Fort Jackson Command Sergeant Major of ATC and Fort Jackson, South Carolina responds to Pentland viral video.

SSGT Pentland has several local channels moldings filed against him with his local Police Department.

Pentland was arrested on April 14 and charged with third-degree assault and battery, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. The department’s jail database shows Pentland was being detained without bond.
