Christine Dacera: 23-Year-Old Flight Attendant Found Lifeless in Hotel Bathtub on New Years

Makati police have charged the 11 men involved in the death of Christine Angelica Dacera on New Year’s Day with provisional rape and homicide, according to Coconuts Manila.

Dacera was a flight attendant at Philippine Airlines, she was found without a pulse in a Makati hotel bathtub after spending the night partying with her colleagues and acquaintances. The 23-year-old victim was pronounced dead when she arrived at the Makati Medical Center. The authorities said her body had abrasions and hematoma, and there were indications that she was sexually assaulted.

Makati police chief Colonel Harold Depositar told The Philippine Daily Inquirer that they are filing cases of provisional rape because they have yet to receive the autopsy and toxicology results, which are scheduled to be released today. Despositar insisted that the rape charge had a basis, saying that Christine had “lacerations and sperm in her genitalia.”

As of today, only three of the suspects have been arrested by the police: John Pascual dela Serna III, 27; Rommel Daluro Galido, 29; and John Paul Reyes Halili, 25. The Makati police have yet to find the remaining eight suspects.

In a statement, the Philippine Airlines where Dacera worked also said: “PAL Express mourns the tragic death of Christine Angela Dacera last January 1 during New Year revelry in Makati City. She was an upstanding and professional PAL Express crew member who will be sorely missed by her colleagues and friends. We are extending full support to the flight attendant’s family at this most difficult time. Our desire is for the truth to come out in the interest of justice.”

The secondary cause of death of the PAL flight attendant determined is aneurysm or the bursting of an artery, the Newpapers.Ph reports.
