Roku, the leading TV streaming platform in the U.S., has unveiled a star-studded lineup for the third season of its hit series Die Hart. Emmy-nominated Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision, Agatha All Along) and Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Spider-Man) joins the cast in season three, led by Tony Cavalero (The Righteous Gemstones, The Dirt) and Anna Garcia (Fly Me to the Moon, Hacks). Season three will be available exclusively on The Roku Channel this Friday, December 13th.
The new cast members will join series regulars Kevin Hart and Nathalie Emmanuel, both Emmy nominees for their work in past seasons. The action-comedy series continues to follow Hart’s exaggerated fictional version of himself through humor, chaos, and heart.
In the third season, Hart’s character is prepared to retire his action-hero dreams in favor of critical acclaim. But his collaboration with acclaimed director Jackson Pepper (played by Simmons) turns chaotic, landing Hart and his co-star Jordan King (Emmanuel) in hot water, both literally and figuratively, on the wrong side of a “most wanted” list.
The cast will play new dynamic roles:
- J.K. Simmons plays the role of Jackson Pepper, an iconic, mercurial filmmaker who can’t resist keeping Hart and King guessing.
- Kathryn Hahn stars as Jillian Avery, a bright Oscar-winning actress who is on top of her game.
- Tony Cavalero plays Agent Fisher, a tenacious FBI agent whose covert secret sabotages his mission.
- Anna Garcia performs as Pearl, a hopeful yet naive young actress who will stop at nothing to get her shot in a Pepper-helmed film.
The upcoming season is produced by Hartbeat, Kevin Hart’s global entertainment company, and includes an incredible creative lineup. Hart is executive producing alongside Bryan Smiley, Luke Kelly-Clyne, Jeff Clanagan, Tripper Clancy, Josh Ruben, and Ty Walker. The season was written by Clancy and directed by Ruben, with Morgan Pichinson and Sabrina Lyall overseeing the project for Roku Originals.
Die Hart has become a breakout success for Roku Originals by marrying high-octane action with sharp comedy. The show has received critical acclaim for its inventive storytelling. Viewers can see the highly anticipated third season on The Roku Channel, starting December 13th.
