On March 28, 2023, 42-year-old Kiera R. McGlinn gave herself to the Portland Police Department due to outstanding warrants for her arrest.
She got charged for allegedly sexually abusing a minor and tampering with a victim/witness.
McGlinn got transported to the Cumberland County Jail, where she posted $2,500 cash bail for the following charges.
The charges stemmed from February 2023 investigation conducted by Sheriff’s Detectives in which McGlinn.
McGlinn got accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage boy. During this investigation, McGlinn allegedly contacted the victim and asked that he lie about their relationship.
In the early stages of that investigation, detectives learned that McGlinn worked as a substitute teacher.
Detectives eventually determined that none of the alleged conduct occurred on SAD 6 property, nor did McGlinn’s role as a substitute teacher serve to facilitate the crime. Instead, the victim, in this case, was friends with members of McGlinn’s family, and all allegations occurred through this family dynamic and outside the school venue.
In this case, as with others similar in nature, investigators always gave a careful review and consideration to the potential for other victims.
Police usually interview friends and acquaintances of the victim, among other actions. They revealed no other victims got identified, and their investigation has supported this.
This matter is now in the hands of the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office.
McGlinn got scheduled for a May 10th, 2023 arraignment in Cumberland County Unified Court. She’s free on bail and got prohibited from having any contact with the victim in this case.
