Real Madrid has secured a major coup in the transfer market with the signing of French superstar Kylian Mbappé. The 25-year-old forward joins the reigning European champions after a record-breaking season with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), where he netted 44 goals and claimed the top scorer title in Ligue 1 for the sixth consecutive year with 27 goals.

Mbappé’s arrival marks a significant enhancement to Real Madrid’s squad. The striker, who captains the French national team, brings with him an impressive array of accolades, including a World Cup victory in 2018 and a Nations League title in 2021, where he scored the decisive goal. His stellar performance in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar earned him the Golden Boot with eight goals, and his hat-trick in the final made him the all-time top scorer in the World Cup finals with four goals.

During his tenure at PSG, Mbappé established himself as the club’s all-time leading scorer, amassing 256 goals. This season alone, he led PSG to triumphs in the Ligue 1, French Cup, and French Super Cup, bringing his total trophy haul with the club to 17 titles: six Ligue 1 titles, four French Cups, five French Super Cups, and two League Cups.

Individually, Mbappé has been a standout performer on the global stage. He has been named in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 four times (2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023) and has been included in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season four times (2016/17, 2019/20, 2020/21, and 2021/22). He received the Golden Boy award in 2017 and has been named the best player in the French championship by the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) on five occasions (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024).

Mbappé’s football journey began at AS Monaco, where he joined the youth ranks in 2013. He made his first-team debut at just 16 and scored his first goal at 17. He won his first Ligue 1 title in the 2016/17 season and debuted in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen at 17, scoring his first goal in the competition against Manchester City. He also played a pivotal role in France’s U19 European Championship victory in 2016 before making his senior national team debut.
