Lashana Lynch and Ana de Armas are the stars of the new Bond film No Time to Die, and spoke with The Hollywood Reporter in their cover story about the upcoming and updated movie. The two discussed Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s involvement with script, shared their favorite Bond characters and revealed how they handled blowback about the casting of women in the historically male-heavy film.

Lashana talked about making her Bond character a real woman, in many ways. She spoke with Rebecca Ford from THR.
“We had one conversation about her maybe being on her period in one scene, and maybe at the beginning of the scene — and I spoke to Cary about this — throwing her tampon in the thing.”
Phoebe Waller-Bridge had a big part in this script. Ana de Armas’ character was written specifically for her in a Cuba-set storyline. Lashana Lynch has been taking those 007 haters in stride.
