On Thursday, the Metro Council unanimously passed a comprehensive ban on no-knock raids following the death of the police killing of Breonna Taylor on March 13. The measure will be titled Breonna’s Law and requires officers serving future warrants to knock and identify themselves as law enforcement in a manner that can be heard by the occupants.

Breonna was killed after police raided her home while she was sleeping, looking for a person who did not live there.

No officers have been charged for her killing.
