A young black girl was shot and killed by police in Columbus, Ohio a few hours after Derek Chauvin was found guilty of killing George Floyd.
Family members identified 16-year-old Ma’khia Bryant as the victim of the shooting. Bryant called the police to help her because someone was threatening her. She was frightened and reportedly had a knife to defend herself.

When the officer arrived onto to the scene he shot Bryant reportedly four times. She was later transported Mount Carmel East hospital in critical condition but died from their injuries.
The name of the officer who gunned down Bryant has not been released as of yet. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation will be investigating this case.

Member of Mother’s of Murdered Columbus Children and other protestors gathered in the area of the shooting, with one person reportedly carrying a sign that read “enough is enough.”
