Marsai Martin brings the self-assured, confidence we all need as headstrong horseback rider “Pru Granger” in the upcoming film “Spirit Untamed”.

The film follows the story of Lucky Prescott, a fearless, risk-taker who becomes enthralled in helping to save a wild mustang “Spirit”, she befriends while visiting her dad. With the help of her BFF’s Pru (Marsai Martin) and Abigail (Mckenna Grace), the girls set out on a wild journey to rescue “Spirit” from a heartless wrangler. The girls prove there’s no obstacle too big to get in their way. Their epic adventure is packed with life lessons.

Spirit Untamed is the next chapter in the story from DreamWorks Animation. Although animated, this story of taking risks and believing in the bigger cause will hopefully resonate with viewers of all ages.

We recently caught up with the “Blackish” star Marsai Martin at the “Spirit Untamed” virtual Press junket to discuss the film, her new projects and why she advocates telling important and inspirational stories, Martin also talks about the end of Blackish after the 8th season.

Watch Marsai Tuesday’s in “Blackish” on ABC and catch her in “Spirit Untamed” when it hits theaters on June 4th.
