A woman identified as Deborah Maes, who teaches music to children, has stirred significant controversy with her actions and views.

Known online as “Knife Lady,” Maes has been vocal about her belief that Black people should return to Africa, a sentiment that has sparked outrage and condemnation.

Maes was recently identified by the Stop Arab Hate X account as the individual responsible for a tense and alarming incident at the University of Toronto.

Earlier this week, she appeared at the People’s Circle for Palestine event on campus, carrying an Israeli flag. Eyewitnesses report that Maes began tearing down banners from a fence, leading to a confrontation.

During the altercation, Maes reportedly brandished a knife when someone attempted to stop her. Despite the aggressive nature of her actions, witnesses noted that the police, who were present at the scene, did not arrest Maes, confiscate her knife, or treat her as a trespasser.
