Megan Rapinoe Addresses Donald Trump MAGA Message

Megan Rapinoe is probably in everybody top five favorite Americans right now. She just lead the United States to its fourth Women’s World Cup title in eight years, delivered a direct, respectfully, and reality check message to Donald Trump on CNN, telling the president that he needed to “do better for everyone,” including people like Rapinoe and minorities.

The US women’s soccer co-captain sat down with Anderson Cooper, from CNN to discuss winning the WWC and Politics. The two discussed about Donald Trump MAGA slogan and the real message behind it.

“I think that I would say that your message is excluding people. You’re excluding me. You’re excluding people that look like me. You’re excluding people of color. You’re excluding, you know, Americans that maybe support you.”

“You have an incredible responsibility as the chief of this country to take care of every single person and you need to do better for everyone,” she added.

Anderson also asked her about the White House visit and she made it pretty obvious she has no interest in stepping into that house on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

“I don’t think anyone on the team has any interest in lending the platform that we’ve worked hard to build and the things that we fight for and the way that we live our lives—I don’t think we want that to be co-opted or corrupted by this administration.”

I appreciate Megan Rapinoe for always stepping and speaking up on important social issues in America. She was one of the first athletes to join Colin Kaepernick in taking a knee. She fights for equal pay for women. She’s a model citizen in LGBT community and in America.
