Mia Khalifa noted in her post on social media that the hospital where she was born in Beirut has been destroyed due to Israeli attacks against Lebanon.
There have been numerous reactions in the social networks in light of reports regarding mass casualties as well as extensive damage to infrastructure in Lebanon.
According to her tweet, Mia Khalifa noted that the hospital she was born in was “reduced to rubble” due to Israel’s bombings of the country.
According to Al Jazeera, Israeli troops have killed at least 254 people and 1,165 people were injured in Lebanon within a day, the most deadly day of the conflict within the country since the signing of the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran.
Israeli airstrike attacks against densely-populated business districts as well as residential buildings in central Beirut led to a high death toll – hundreds of deaths and over a thousand people injured.
The attack against Lebanese citizens happened just hours after the signing of the ceasefire agreement in the conflict between the U.S.-Israel and Iran.
Apart from causing deaths and injuries, airstrikes destroyed several hospitals in the southern parts of Lebanon as well as around Beirut, including Rafik Hariri University Hospital.
There were polarized reactions to the post by Mia Khalifa concerning the death toll in the Israeli strikes in Lebanon.
Some users sympathized with civilian casualties and displaced persons in the country, while others claimed that the rockets fired by Hezbollah from Lebanese soil were the reason for the escalation of the conflict.
An unnamed commentator blamed the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the killing of civilians in the airstrikes and called for an end to the fighting.
Some users posted supportive posts for the actress, including comments such as, “I’m so sorry about this devastation, Mia.”
One user discussed the emotional consequences of losing places of birth during airstrike attacks and suggested that it can be very shocking for people, while giving them a chance to grow up psychologically.
