Mia Khalifa went on social media on Saturday after learning that the U.S.-Israel military operations hit a girls’ school.
According to Global Eye News, 51 Iranian children were killed, and 60 students were injured when the girls’ school was hit by operations, which the U.S. referred to as “major combat operations” against Iran.
In the Global Eye News video, there is a lot of smoke coming from a destroyed building, and many people are seen in the area. It seems that people are digging around the destroyed area.
Mia Khalifa commented on X (Twitter) regarding the operations.
“crazy how they can zero in on a foreign national and kidnap them from their own home in the middle of the night, but no ability to avoid schools and hospitals when launching attacks in the Middle East,” Khalifa wrote.
Her words also reflect some of the larger issues surrounding military accuracy and civilian deaths in war.
The post generated a lot of reaction online. Some people defended the operations, stating that the deaths of civilians were an unfortunate part of war.
“When there is WAR, this will always happen. Innocent people will always pay the consequences. Their own Government doesn’t care about its own people. If they did, none of this would be happening,” one person commented.”
Another person chimed in, “The idea is don’t fight back, or we will kill your children.”
Some people were supporting Khalifa’s post. “I salute Khalifa’s sister, “one person commented.
U.S. and Israeli officials have not yet issued any public statements on the reported school strike or the casualty figures from Global Eye News. Independent verification of the exact figures was not yet available.
The reported strike comes at a time when there is heightened tension between the U.S., Israel, and Iran.
