It’s official! Michael B. Jordan is producing a Live-Action ‘Static Shock’ movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Michael B. Jordan on producing the ‘Static Shock’ movie:

“I am proud to be part of building a new universe centered on black superheroes, our community deserves this”.

Jordan will join fellow producer Reginald Hudlin on the project.

In the late-90s and early 2000s, you could make an argument that ‘Static Shock’ was one of the most-popular DC animated shows, alongside ‘Justice League.’

The Hollywood Reporter suggest the Static Shock film could be the center of a new cinematic universe produced by Jordan and his Outlier Society banner. “Outlier will be in the creative center of the Static feature and for Jordan, a comic book fan, this is an opportunity for not only for some world-building but to be directly involved in franchise-building.

If the first film is successful, a multiplatform franchise may be born.
