Netflix new highly anticipated show ‘The Witcher’ released last Friday on December 20th. The show received bad reviews from critics and great response from fans. Thankfully, the fans ignored the critics. Some critics said it is like Game of Thrones which is completely ignorant. A better comparison would be Harry Potter mixed with Lord Of The Rings. The show is nothing like Game of Thrones at all.

Anyway, the show has strong performances by British actresses Mimi Ndiweni and Anna Shaffer. Many people question Netflix decision for the race swap for The Witcher characters. The Witcher video games main characters were all white. Some are mad about Mimi, Anna, and Anya Chalotra being casted on the show.

Mimi Ndiweni plays Fringilla Vigo is a Nilfgaardian sorceress and a member of the Lodge of Sorceresses along with her fellow countrywoman, Assire var Anahid. She was also the second cousin of Anna Henrietta of Toussaint. She was a woman with natural grace, green eyes and close-cropped black hair. During the First Northern War Fringilla fought for Nilfgaard at the Battle of Sodden Hill where she blinded Yennefer who was fighting on the opposing side.

Anna Shaffer plays Triss Merigold, a powerful sorceress in the show and also a lover of Geralt of Rivia in the video game. It still has been undetermined if the show runner will make Triss and Geralt share a bed but in the show they shared a task in breaking the curse of King Foltest daughter Adda.

Wilson Radjou-Pujalte plays Dara is a young elf boy who befriends Ciri. Encountering her in the woods, Dara stops Ciri from eating poisonous berries. He gestures her in his direction and offers her a rat to eat. The two would later travel together for a few episodes until left her because she kept putting his life endangered.

The Witcher weekend numbers have been reported yet by Netflix but the show was renewed by Netflix a month ago.
