Minnesota police arrest CNN reporter and camera crew as they report from protests in Minneapolis.
Omar Jimenez, a reporter for CNN along with his entire crew, were just arrested live on air for covering the Minneapolis protests. This goes to show you that no college degree, profession, class, income bracket, or level of special access will protect you from anti-blackness.
Jimenez identified himself as a journalist and showed the appropriate press credential while live on CNN.
Here is a screen shot showing Omar holding his mic and credential even as one deputy grabs Omar’s arm to arrest him.
Jimenez and his crew have been released from police custody. He recounts getting arrested and what happened while they were in custody.
