“Gird your loins”: The first teaser for “The Devil Wears Prada 2” has been released.
Within the 52-second clip, Meryl Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, walks around the Runway wearing red stilettos before being joined by ex-assistant Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs inside an elevator.
“Took you long enough,” Miranda growls, as a smirking Andy puts on a pair of black shades.
It will be a sequel to the 2006 box office hit, “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” It will see the Runway editor-in-chief, Miranda Priestly, try to make sense of a world that is deteriorating around her, since the print media is dying out rapidly. Miranda Priestly will, therefore, have to face opposition from Emily Charlton, aka Emily Blunt, when the latter becomes a high-powered executive member of a luxury company that has the advertising budget that Priestly so vitally requires.
The actual ‘Devil Wears Prada’ tells the story of a recent college graduate, Andrea Sachs, as she lands a job as a junior assistant at Runway Magazine, as this is an opportunity that propels her toward making a choice between having a professional life or a personal life as she reaches out to achieve her professional goal. ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ was a box office success, accumulating a total of $326 million at the box office.
Streep, Hathaway, Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman will all repeat their roles in “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” Kenneth Branagh will appear as Priestley’s husband, with a role by Simone Ashley that hasn’t been disclosed yet.
The other new cast members will be Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Justin Theroux, and Pauline Chalamet. Patrick Brammall will appear as a new love interest for Andy, and Rachel Bloom will have an unknown role in the movie. It has already been established that Adrian Grenier, the actor from the first installment who played the role of Nate, will be absent in the sequel.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is produced by Wendy Finerman and executive produced by Michael Bederman, Karen Rosenfelt, and McKenna. The film debuts exclusively in theaters on May 1, 2026.
