In a heartwarming display of community support and generosity, My Best Kid Life, in collaboration with Sony Pictures, hosted a free advance screening of Paddington in Peru for families in Altadena who lost their homes in the devastating Eaton wildfires. The event, held at the Regal Paseo Theater in Pasadena, provided a much-needed escape and a day of joy for children and their families as they continue the challenging journey of rebuilding their lives.

A Special Movie Experience for Families in Need

The screening was more than just a chance to see an eagerly awaited film—it was a moment of respite, laughter, and community bonding for families who have endured immense hardship. Thanks to Sony Pictures, families were treated to a complimentary movie experience complete with free popcorn and soda, making the event feel just as magical as a night out at the movies should be.

Sony Pictures also gifted children with exclusive keepsakes, including movie posters and Paddington-themed pencil pouches, ensuring they had a tangible reminder of the joyous day.

Creating Lasting Memories with The Bosco’s Photo Booth

Adding to the excitement, The Bosco, a well-known event photography company, provided a free interactive photo booth experience. Before and after the screening, families and children took fun-filled photos with their friends and loved ones.

For children who have faced loss and disruption due to the fires, capturing smiles, laughter, and precious moments with their families served as a reminder of hope and happiness.

A Mission to Uplift: Words from My Best Kid Life’s Founder

Kiki Ayers, the Founder of My Best Kid Life, expressed her passion and dedication to bringing happiness to children who have faced unimaginable struggles.

This event was about bringing hope and happiness to families who have been through so much,” Ayers said. “We wanted to give these kids a chance to escape, even just for a little while, and enjoy a magical movie experience.”

Her organization, My Best Kid Life, has been at the forefront of creating memorable experiences for underserved families, helping children find joy through meaningful events, education, and community-driven initiatives.

Community Support: Victory Bible Church and Student Transportation of America

Events like this don’t happen without strong community partnerships. The Victory Bible Church played an essential role in making the screening possible, with Pastor Jon, Pastor Clyde, Sara Potter, and Quanesha Moore leading efforts to support affected families in Altadena.

To ensure safe and convenient transportation, Student Transportation of America generously donated four buses and drivers, allowing families to attend the screening without additional stress.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Sony Pictures, Victory Bible Church, and Student Transportation of America,” he said. “This event was a testament to what we can accomplish when we come together to support our community.”

A Fun-Filled Kids Day Carnival After the Screening

The excitement didn’t end with the movie—families were invited to continue the fun at a Kids Day Carnival hosted at Victory Bible Church.

The carnival featured:

  • Exciting games and activities
  • Face painting and balloon animals
  • Music and dancing
  • Delicious snacks and refreshments

The post-movie celebration gave families even more opportunities to bond, laugh, and heal together, reinforcing the strength of their community.
